Join artist Maki Aizawa with her mother, Master Kimono Maker, Tsuyo Onodera, to learn more about techniques and processes used to create the textiles in Weaving Splendor: Treasures of Asian Textiles from The Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.”
Maki and Tsuyo will be at the Ingram Gallery at the Frist Museum from 10:30am – 1:30pm
11:30am-12:00pm Tsuyo will demonstrate the sewing technique involved.
12:00pm-12:30pm Maki will present her latest kimono making book.
12:30pm-1:00pm Kamiko, the Women’s Collective of the licensed kimono makers, will be introduced by Maki.
