Kakishibu – Natural Persimmon Dye

For the International Folk Art Market in Santa Fe in 2021, we have designed one-of-a-kind” kakishibu jackets. kakishibu is a traditional Japanese dye, using tannin from unripe green persimmons. This particular dye is fermented and aged in Kyoto, Japan. We also have on display hand-dyed Yukata (summer kimonos made out of cotton). For the Market that starts soon on July 7 and goes through July 11, we have available two kakishibu jackets, one size M and one size L.
