In 2013, for the Artist Residency Program at the Workshop Residence in San Francisco, I used a specially aged persimmon dye called Tamashibu, made by this family. With this dye, I used various mordants such as copper to create different hues in the cotton fabric that we hand-sewed into Yukata (summer kimonos).
